The door has a thin wooden shelf below the glass and decorative mouldings, typical of the Edwardian era. There is a letter box space although all door hardware has been removed. There are 3 raised panels on the front face at the base of the door. The pine is of a good colour and has an attractive grain.
The door is a reclaimed antique and therefore has some small signs of wear. There are some surface cracks, knocks and chips to the wood, especially to the corners of the door. The door furniture has been removed and there are some holes and marks. Some small patch repairs can be seen, please see pictures for details. The decorative mouldings have some slight separation from the door in places.
The glass and glazing bars are intact and without breaks. The door is a well made item with very pretty glass, making it perfect for adding period character to a home. If you wish to arrange your own courier for collection, we would bubble wrap the item free of charge.
There are a few points we would like to make you aware of in terms of risk. There is a small amount of risk with transporting any item.
This risk can be minimised by either collecting in person or using a trusted person or company to move the item for you. We have been using the same trusted family firm of couriers for many years now and are happy with their services, additionally you are covered for loss or damage. We would not be liable for loss or damage in transit. For cast iron items, no amount of bubble wrap will protect them from smashing if they were allowed to fall over. I would urge you not to book a parcel carrier, although cheaper.
I would choose a door to door courier who does not use depots to transfer items. Please see our other listings for unusual items.
